In order to be successful in any exam proper preparation is required. In addition to proper preparation, understanding the techniques of proper preparation is needed.

BE CONFIDENT: Whenever you are about to prepare for an exam, the first and most important aspect you should take note is that you must have confidence in yourself. As soon as you panic or demonstrate fear it will destroy everything that has to do with your preparation. Cast away any fear that would want to arise and focus on your preparation. When you identify that the fear is gone and the confidence is established then you are set to prepare for your exam. Statistics all over the whole has shown that many students fail their exam because of fear and panic which acts as an obstacle during their preparation. Be confident to succeed.

STUDY WITH FOCUS: studying with focus means you should study without being distracted. You should concentrate on the syllabus of you study. Avoid doing research work that is not closely related with your study. They will only cause you to lose time and affect the mastery you could have obtained within a shorter period of time. When studying always remember to make a summary of what you have read. This is one of the things which will help you during your preparation time for an exam.

PAST EXAMINATION QUESTIONS: Past Examination questions help students to succeed in most exams.Go through quiz questions.  All exams have passed questions. Exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, CISCO and much more have past questions.  It’s important for students to identify where they can get the examination past questions for which they are preparing for. When you get these questions, you have to go through it, try as much as possible to answer all of the questions. The challenges that you will meet in the past examination questions during your preparation will surely be the same you will meet in your exams.

SEEK UNDERSTANDING AND AVOID CRAMMING: Most students always do cram work for their studies. Cramming is dangerous for exam preparation. Those who always cram later discover that with time they have forgotten what they read. This could lead to great failure at times in exams. Rather than cramming your books or notes, seek understanding. When you prepare for an exam well ahead of time you will be able to understand the course work.  When you seek to understand your course work, it would be very difficult for you to have a score lower than 70.

RELAX A DAY BEFORE YOUR EXAMS: A day before your exams you should relax. You could listen to nice classical music. This is to reduce the tension you might have because of the upcoming exam. On That day you could lecture others about what you have read. This will help you have more confidence in yourself and confirm that you have indeed understood what you have studied.  Have good sleep several hours before your exams at least 12hours. This will help to keep you in a calm state of mind and take away any stress which might want to arise within you.
